For who hath despised the day of small things…. Zechariah 4:10
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. Job 8:7
23 years ago a small group of parents felt led of the Lord to start a Christian school here in Floyd. There were 11 students and two teachers the first year. Tuition was $125 per month. Very small beginnings I would say.
30 years ago a young couple felt led to move to Iowa and pastor a small church. There were just 16 people in attendance that first service, including the pastor’s family of four. Very small beginnings I would say.
The Bible teaches we should never despise the day of small beginnings, especially those of us here at the Gospel Lighthouse Church and Academy. Wait a minute… let us not forget the Master’s Commission with a graduating class of three. “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase,” says the Lord.
